Dr. Steven M. Kleen

Optometrist

Dr. Steven Kleen graduated summa cum laude from Southern California College of Optometry in May 2015. Dr. Kleen started Carpinteria Eye Care in 2018. Prior to pursuing a career in eye care, Dr. Kleen played five seasons of professional baseball with the Oakland Athletics. Steven grew up in Temecula, California and went to Chaparral High School. He attended Pepperdine University where he played Division I baseball. He was honored as a Division I All American and Academic All-American as well as Pepperdine Scholar Athlete of the Year. Dr. Kleen graduated with a degree in Sports Medicine. When he is not seeing patients, Steven enjoys surfing, biking, and spending quality time with his wife and five children. 
In regards to eye care, his interests include specialty contact lens fitting, myopia control, ocular disease treatment and management, and sports vision. Dr Steven Kleen was honored with the Practice Excellence Award by VSP for his commitment to private practice optometry. 

Dr. Jerry "Jay" Neel

Optometrist 

Dr. Jerry "Jay" Neel is a dedicated optometrist with over 30 years of experience, specializing in primary care optometry, contact lens fitting, and the treatment of ocular diseases. A graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry, Dr. Neel is passionate about helping his patients achieve optimal vision and eye health. His wealth of experience and patient-centered approach ensure that each individual receives top-notch care.

Outside of the office, Jay enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children, traveling, camping, and fishing. He's also an avid vintage motorcycle enthusiast and loves to play guitar in his spare time. Whether it’s improving his patients' vision or enjoying life’s adventures with his family, Dr. Neel brings dedication and a love for what he does to everything he takes on.
